So, I finished my Xmas shopping. I feel great about it. People on my list will be pleased, I hope.
We did a lot of talking about our plans for the house this weekend. We have our work cut out for us in turning the garage into the “Red Sox Den”. We’re removing the garage door and putting in French doors. Putting cherry “Pergo” (sp??) (see the Lowe’s website to learn about that) over the cement floor. We’re going to do a tin or like-tin ceiling, with a really awesome ceiling fan we found this weekend. Also, a gas fireplace – which will warm the place up nicely, and a flat panel TV for above the fireplace. H also has ordered a pretty awesome bar that will match the flooring and cherry wood accents. And I guess there’s some kind of smoke eliminator he wants to install because he will be smoking cigars in this room now and then. I’m sure there’s a lot more I can’t remember at this time, but it’s going to be spectacular.
We also found our kitchen table & chairs, as well as the 2 chairs, ottoman and cabinet for our den: http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/sr=1-1/qid=1164028601/ref=sr_1_1/601-6269759-3704965?ie=UTF8&asin=B000BZ1P6C, and http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/sr=1-3/qid=1164028601/ref=sr_1_3/601-6269759-3704965?ie=UTF8&asin=B000G7L8LC, can’t find the cabinet that goes with this set.
And for our kitchen: http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/ref=br_1_3/601-6269759-3704965?ie=UTF8&frombrowse=1&asin=B00023XGZQ
We’re pretty excited.
I did some xmas decorating this weekend. Not much, but put out some xmas candles and a wreath on our door, and I filled a glass vase with small xmas ball-like ornaments, it's cool. I like to keep it simple. I’ll take some snapshots and post some pictures when my laptop arrives this week! YAY!!!
Did I mention that married life has been quite different with us, even though we’ve lived together for over a year? I am very pleased. And frankly, surprised that it does feel different. :)
