Call For Help: HELP!!!!!

I’m having major issues on my laptop accessing a lot of things, but most infuriating is the comments part of my blog since I switched to Internet Explorer version 7 (I think that’s what it is…) Every time I access my blog from my laptop at home, and I click on the comments part of one of my blog entries, I get hung up - the NOT RESPONDING message comes up, and I have to end-task/close. This all started when I was prompted to update to the newer version on Dec 22nd, and I haven’t been able to work with my laptop very well since then. I keep getting hung up, and the dreaded NOT RESPONDING page notice….it is REALLY pissing me off. I want to go back to the older version now, but I’m not sure how. I’ve also been told that Firefox may be the thing to switch to, but I’m not sure how it interfaces with my laptop or the sites I use frequently…how to switch to Firefox, if it is easy to work with…etc. etc. I have searched online (granted, I admit I’m not the best at googling or doing online searches when I have questions) but I have not been able to find a previous version of IE, nor an e-mail/contact to request help with this newer version of IE to explain my problems…and, I am really, really frustrated. What do I do? Do I make the switch to Firefox (- or is it Mozilla?) blindly?? HELP ME!!!

If anyone can come to my rescue, I would be very, very grateful.

***EDIT*** I'm going to see if this http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/support/default.mspx?pf=true helps.
in the mean time - any advice on switching from IE to something else is still appreciated!!

****EDIT EDIT****
FIREFOX RULES!!! i'm a convert fo shizzle.

Firefox.

I use Firefox and like it so much better than IE. Easy to download and you can move your favorites (bookmarks) from IE to Firefox.

Congratulations on making the move to Firefox. You won't regret it.

You'd probably be wise to leave IE installed on your machine. There are still a few sites that don't recognize Firefox (IDIOTS!). But, you can also download a plugin or extension for Firefox that emulates Explorer. I've got it on my laptop, and it works like a charm.

I can't believe it took you this long to switch to Firefox...

Thank god you've finally converted.

BTW, Opera is even better than Firefox. :)

Agreed about Firefox. However, you might check the popup blocker settings on IE7. I had trouble too and found that when I lowered the security setting it worked just fine. Just a thought.
