Doggy Day Care

doggy day care is taking its toll on teddy & stella. the last two days, they have been coming home thoroughly exhausted. no barking, no jumping. it is like i own different dogs, now. i worry that they're not enjoying themselves, and that they're sad, or feeling like i'm abandoning them.

is this silly? i don't know. am i doing the right thing?

i call and check on them, and both missy and debbie (the caretaker and the caretaker/owner) say they're doing fine...having a ball...being very good - and learning a lot. in fact, they're in with the big dogs more than the smaller dogs - they seem to enjoy it more. and stella isn't the vocal one at day care, teddy is. this is the opposite at home. at least, it was until two days ago. i know that they're treated very well, given lots of affection and attention, being played with and cared for. but - are they just tired? or are they upset with me?? how do i know?

am i being ridiculous?

If they start leaving you little presents on the carpet, they're upset with you. Otherwise, they're spending their energy in a very good way.s

not yet...but they don't want to do anything but snuggle when they come home. we take them out to go to the bathroom, and they don't poop until morning...which is odd for them.

anyway, i hope they like it. i worry. but then again, i'm a worrier...

I have no experience with this sort of thing, but I suspect bhd is right.

bhd is definitely right. If they were unhappy, you'd know about it. They're tired from running with the big dogs.
