Post Christmas Post

I hope all of you who celebrate Christmas had a lovely holiday. Not sure if Hanukkah or Kwanzaa is over yet – so if you celebrate those, happy holidays to you.

We had a whirlwind trip to Pittsburgh. It was really, really great to see Trish. I love her so much. We had a lovely time Friday night at Molly Brannigans in Mt. Lebanon. Great music, great Guinness etc. It was a much needed night out for my Trish. She’s really trying to hang in there with all that’s going on, but she’s pretty broken. It broke my heart to see her cry and hear her pain. I just wish I was there full-time to help her through this. The good news is that she will be visiting me for her birthday at the end of January. Can’t wait!! The 4 kids were thrilled with the gifts H and I brought them this year. And we also got some fantastic home-made cards from them, and a great framed charcoal drawing from Harry (#2 son) of Poseidon. Trish made us a beautiful mirror that she framed and painted with the words to Billy Joel’s C’etait Toi. I can’t wait to hang it up!

We enjoyed our time with my parents, too, though it was kind of short. We did spend most of the afternoon with them on the 24th and also all morning on the 25th. It is sad that the time had to be cut short due to talk of bad weather that we wanted to beat on our 3 hr ride home. But, we’ll be back soon enough.

Santa was good to us this year, but what we’re most thankful for is our time together, our friends and our family.

You sound like a really great friend to Trish. I'm sure she appreciates any time you can spend with her.
