Well, the time has almost come. H & I are to be married in the Abacos Islands of the Bahamas http://www.bahamas.com/bahamas/island/islandguide.aspx?sectionid=4515&islandsectionid=4521 on Friday, October 6 at 6:30 PM!!
When we met, I didn’t imagine this would happen…but I can’t remember ever feeling this loved before. We do drive each other crazy, but aside from any moods or bad days or any of that stuff, I strongly believe we are meant to be and that there is no better match for either of us. It feels like coming home.
So, I just finalized picking up Rev. Vernon Malone via boat at the opposite island for our ceremony at the Dolphin House beach http://sealevelcottages.com/dolphinhouse.html
Dinner at the Hopetown Lodge afterwards http://www.hopetownlodge.com/upperterrace/upperterrace.htm
including a 4 layer almond cake with buttercream icing and local bougainvillea and other flowers on top. Oh, and there will be champagne – my favorite!!
All that remains is to clean the house, do laundry, pack, leave the cats and dogs in the care of H’s cousin’s lovely young neice – Amy, get to the airport, fly there, get our marriage license, get that to Rev. Malone prior to the ceremony, and enjoy the warm breezes (and hopefully no hurricanes!) and sunshine in the Abacos. http://www.bahamas.com/bahamas/weatherdetail.aspx?island=abac
When next we speak (or is it read in this case?) I will be like the Barbara Striesand song she sings in Funny Girl about “Sadie”... a married lady.
Wish me luck! See you on or after October 17th!
